Event Details

Swimming Buddies© engages children to learn about swimming and water safety. The steps included can save lives by reducing drowning statistics through education. This book was created along with the online curriculum Water Safety in the Classroom © that Kara created for the educator to teach in the classroom, thereby teaching all students about water safety. Parents and caregivers can also use this curriculum to teach the family at home. Water is not needed to learn water safety.

Kara Cassidy is owner of Florida Swim School in Boca Raton, which is the only indoor swim school in the area. The life-saving skill of swimming is taught in a safe environment using a nurturing method that builds confidence. It is never too late to learn to swim!

Kara is also co-owner of Saint Andrew’s Aquatics, which is a competitive swimming, diving, and water polo club following USA Aquatics rules and regulations. Graduates from Florida Swim School have the opportunity to continue in aquatics by joining one of these sports. Kara believes that learning to swim is a necessity, not a luxury. She and her husband Sid moved to Boca Raton in 2005. Their grown children Quinn and Kate are full-time employees with the family businesses. The Cassidys love taking family trips and playing in the ocean.
