Already know the basics and are now ready to learn more about how to play chess? It’s amazing but true, playing chess helps to strengthen your critical-thinking skills plus promote the growth of new brain dendrites! Cool, right? Families are invited to sign up for a 6-week virtual class session with professional chess instructor and international competitor, Bob Holliman. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon! You will learn about centralizing chess pieces, opposition, pins, double attack, queen vs. pawn endings, and much more. Each virtual instructional class is 45 minutes long. After you register for the class, you will receive an email invite to join the Boca Raton Public Library (BRPL) Chess Club so you can practice your intermediate chess moves with others during an optional post-class virtual, 30-minute, open-play period. This open-play period will be moderated by a library team member.
